My Missionary

Nathaniel babyToday was very special day for our family.  We went through the Temple with my Missionary son, who received his endowments.  I remember sitting in the session and feeling the presence of My grandfather, Gayle White who passed away several years ago.  I think it was one of the happiest days of my life next to my wedding day and the birth of each of my children.

I was thinking about how quickly time flies.  I swear it was only yesterday when the nurse put this beautiful  baby into my arms and said “Enjoy him because tomorrow he will be all grown up.”  well it’s tomorrow and he’s grown up.

I am really grateful for the support of family and ward members who attended the session with us to celebrate this special occasion.

Nathaniel was a blue baby, born with the cord wrapped around his neck.  As a result of that and other things, he was diagnosed with a form of autism commonly known as aspergers syndrome.  He has always been so close to the spirit since he was just a baby and always a very well behaved child.  However, his illness made it hard for him to do what he has wanted to do since he was a small boy which is go on a full time proselyting mission.  So instead, he was called as a service mission to the family search Center here in Orem.

This has allowed him to not only serve the Lord but to stay home where he can have his family’s support and go to school at the same time.  He really enjoys his mission and we have been very blessed to have our son serving the Lord in this way.

Today those blessings were extended even more as we attended the Temple with him.  both of my sisters and two of my four brothers were in attendance as well as one of Kim’s brothers and his wife and my parents and several ward and stake members. loves his mission and we have been so blessed to have a missionary in our home.

This is a day I will always remember with great fondness as I was touched with the spirit and blessed to see my son make good choices in his life.
