gratitude

This time of year most of the talks and lessons in church and institute center around gratitude.  It feels weird that some of us only really think about what we are grateful for around thanksgiving when we should be thinking about and expressing that gratitude all year around.

I am reluctant to express what I am grateful for because I heard once that what ever you don’t say you are grateful for you will lose and there just isnt the time or space to include it all.  so I will just start by saying I am grateful for everything.  Is that cheating?

Here are just a few of the thousands upon thousands of things in my life that I am grateful for in no particular order just in the order they come to me:

indoor plumbing
hot water
electricity
family
friends
my job
my health
the gospel
the Savior
rainbows
flowers
rain
heat
mountains
a place to live
my bed
my children
hot showers
food
poetry
my ability to read and write
my ability to hold down a job
education
clothing
all things pretty
movies
games
vacations
a reliable car
my parents
dr pepper
chocolate
my trials and what I learn from them
love
peace of mind
respite for illness
and oh so much more
