Yesterday, I had an appointment with the Bishop before church. I was so worried that he was going to call me to Primary. It’s not that I don’t like teaching Primary its just that with going to school and working full time, I was worried that I wouldn’t have the time or energy to prepare and give good lessons.
When the Bishop said to me “Sister Robinson, I would like to extend a calling to you to teach primary.” I let out a big exhale ( I wasn’t even aware I was holding my breath.) I told him of my concerns and he said that many names were submitted to him by the Primary Presidency for this calling and non of them felt right, and the names he submitted didn’t feel right to the presidency but when my name was submitted, both he and the primary presidency felt good about it. He said that He feels this is really where Heavenly Father wants me and that if I strive to do my best in this calling Heavenly Father will bless me in school as well.
Later, at a fireside in Salt Lake for young service missionaries and their parents, the speaker said that if we pray, every time we struggle or feel like we can’t achieve something, God will help us. He quoted President Hinckley as saying “Pray as though everything depends on God and work a though everything depends on you.”
So with one more thing added to my already busy life, I just need to have faith and pray a lot!
