Angels in my life

I love the words to the song entitled “Angels Among us” Which goes like this:

I was walking home from school on a cold winter’s day  hands2
Took a shortcut through the woods and I lost my way
It was getting late and I was scared and alone
Then a kind old man took my hand and led me home
Mama couldn’t see him, but he was standing there
But I knew in my heart, he was the answer to my prayers

Oh I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live
To teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love

When life dealt troubled times and had me down on my knees
There’s always been someone there to come along and comfort me
A kind word from a stranger to lend a helping hand
A phone call from a friend just to say I understand
Ain’t it kind of funny at the dark end of the road
Someone lights the way with just a single ray of hope

Oh I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live
To teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love

They wear so many faces
Show up in the strangest places
Grace us with thier mercy
In our time of need

Oh I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live
To teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love

there was a story recently about a man in Salt Lake who was crippled and wheeling himself in his wheel chair to work.  His wheels were worn down because of all the traveling in the snow and one fell off and he spent three hours on the ground in a public place waiting for help.

I have been fortunate in my life to not have had this happen much.  It seems when I need help God sends angels into my life.  Just recently, strangers helped when I got the work van stuck, and when my daughter was in a fender bender.  They just appeared out of no where willing to help. I can’t even count the times when angels disguised as family members, friends and even strangers have appeared in my life. Some of the angels have been Bishops, friends, siblings and parents who have rescued me even without me asking to be rescued.

I don’t know why I have been blessed when others like this man in Salt lake has not been but I am grateful for it and hope that I can be an angel for someone when they need one.

The Angel in my life that I appreciate the most is my husband Kim.  Through the good and the bad, the thick and the thin when others came and left, he was and is always there     reason tohelp
